Who we are
Members of the Business and Conflict Community contribute varied perspectives and expertise to the group. Having a shared community provides a basis for convening, exchange, coordination, and relationship building, strengthening the work of each community member and enabling a greater collective impact. Together, community members co-create research findings, policy and normative frameworks, and other building blocks towards a global conflict-sensitive business environment.
Vision
The vision for the community is to consolidate and mainstream work on business operations in conflict-affected areas within broader debates on business and human rights. In this endeavor, the objective of the community is to create a safer space for more frequent discussion, better information exchange, and more intentional relationships among professionals working at the intersection of business, human rights, and conflict.

Members
The community of practice membership comprises practitioners including actors from international organizations, non-governmental organizations, law firms, academia, consulting agencies, and more. It stretches across 6 continents and examines a variety of subtopics within the domain of business and human rights in conflict. The community of practice also directly engages with companies and investors on topics of common interest.

Activities
Current activities of the community of practice include (online) facilitated workshops, topical briefings, information exchange, and may expand into collaborative products. Community members drive the agenda.

Each November, the community hosts an in-person workshop in Geneva on the sidelines of the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights.
